Suitability of Ohio Soils for Treating Wastewater

Soil has an ability to purify wastewater so that the treated water is suitable to be reintroduced into the environment. In order to remove pollutants, the soil must at least be unsaturated, deep, and permeable to air and water. The National Cooperative Soil Survey can help in selecting appropriate treatment and dispersal systems for a particular tract of land.
